I must have done this wrong because I feel more stressed than when I started. Thought of 3 positive things about my situation but my anxiety increased. Perhaps it is because later on this morning I must address recent events involving my situation and I am nervous about the outcome. It seems we overcome a hurdle only to be faced with another. A vicious cycle.
Thank you for your honesty Nancy. Sometimes things can feel worse before they feel better. See if you can just allow whatever is arising in the moment to be, exactly as it is, without judgment. By noticing and naming it; “Oh, anxiety.” you can put yourself back in the observer seat rather than being carried away by the train of anxiety and believing all the thoughts you’re having as the only reality. Perhaps there are some unresolved emotions related to your situation, and if you give them the space to be felt, they will pass.
Everyday I think, “this is the best one yet”, and everyday keeps getting better. I’m so thankful to you Vanessa for sharing these daily meditations. I hope to repeat these 30 days over and over again!
