Ever feel like you have to take care of everything (and everyone!), and yet who is taking care of you?

Today’s short video is about why you may feel this way, what are the underlying causes and how you can feel less alone shouldering this burden…

If you feel unsupported at work, or in your relationships, it could be because you weren’t truly supported as a kid. When the adults closest to us aren’t available or able to meet our deepest emotional needs, it can lead us to adapt the belief that we need to take care of ourselves in this world.

We can’t rely on others. It’s not safe, or we’ll be disappointed.

And, if you were born in a female or marginalized body, you may have been conditioned to believe it’s your job to take care of everyone else’s needs, and ignore your own.

This is a nurture vs. nature situation.

We learned these patterns of behavior. And we can unlearn them.
